What a Crate is
A Crate is a set of tracks you put together and listen through deliberately — an album, a best-of, a Rolling Stone 500 run, a stack of records you pulled for the evening. You build it, you flip through it, and the app keeps track of where you are: what’s played, what you skipped, and what’s up next.

Listening in a Crate
While a Crate is playing, Kapell gets out of the way — the surrounding chrome steps back so it’s just you and the next track. A progress bar shows how far in you are and how much is left; played and skipped tracks are marked as you go. No searching or distractions. Just you and the liner notes.
Keeps out of Recently Played by default
What you play from a Crate doesn't show up in your Apple Music Recently Played — so a Christmas Crate or three thousand spins of Baby Shark won't crowd out your real listening. Whether a Crate records to Recently Played is a switch you flip per Crate: off to just listen, on when you want those plays to count. (Either way, the plays still show up in your Listen Log.)
