Run tell DAC.

The network carries commands and the now‑playing. The receiver streams from Apple Music itself and feeds your DAC directly, at the rate Apple streams it.

OUTPUT your DAC · as Apple streams it

Set up in about a minute.

01
Turn on the receiver.

On the Mac connected to your DAC, open Kapell's Settings ▸ Remote and allow it to be controlled by other Kapells.

02
Pair it once.

The controller finds the receiver on your network by itself (Bonjour). Both Macs show a code; if they match, pair. After that, only Macs you've paired can drive it.

03
Press play.

Pick a record on the laptop and the receiver plays it, Hi‑Res Lossless and all. Sonic nirvana, from the couch.

Step-by-step instructions and troubleshooting are in the Remote docs.

Nerdy audiophile questions.

Does any audio cross the network?

No. The receiver streams from Apple Music itself and plays to its own output. The controller only sends commands, so your Wi‑Fi can get back to buffering everyone else's videos.

Do both Macs need Kapell?

Yes, it's Kapell on both ends. One is the controller, the other is the receiver connected to your DAC. That Mac mini under the turntable finally has a job.

How do they find each other?

Receivers announce themselves on your local network (Bonjour), so they show up in a list. No IP addresses to type, no networking degree required.

Can a guest on my Wi‑Fi take over?

Not without your say‑so. Every new controller has to be paired, with a code shown on both Macs. Your brother‑in‑law's party playlist stays on his phone.

Why 192 kHz? My DAC does 768.

It's a fine DAC. Apple Music tops out at 24‑bit / 192 kHz, so that's the most there is to send it. The other 576 kHz are for bragging rights.

What does it cost?

Nothing extra. Remote is part of Kapell, with no add‑on and no subscription. Spend the savings on cables.
