With the UI revamp covered it’s time to talk about enrichment.

Grammys

Kapell’s backend now contains details about every Grammy ever awarded and nominated, connected to the songs, albums, and people. Kapell even links you to the work!

Kendrick Lamar's artist page in Kapell, with the enrichment panel open to an Awards tab listing Grammy wins and nominations by year, each linked to the song that earned it.

Band and Artist Improvements

Bands change: members leave, partnerships end, and hot-damn if it’s not interesting to keep up with that.

    Artist Bio tab now shows band membership and years active, if a group.

    Improved API errors

    Error messages returned to clients are now more specific. Only an internal thing since Kapell is its API's only client.

    ISRC hinting

    Kapell now includes an Internation Standard Recording Code (ISRC) "hint" when querying, improving matches.

CHANGED 2 changes

  • Grammy awards revamped, nominations added, link to work.

  • Years active for groups and individuals are now displayed.

    Band formation year now labled as "formed" instead of "born".

    Some cases where artists featured/appearing on a work now link correctly rather than vying for matches. It was a weird bug.
