# The Listen Log

A private record of what you've played — synced across your Macs through your own iCloud, and yours to read.

## What it is

The Listen Log is Kapell’s record of your own listening — what you played, when, and how often — turned into a dashboard that’s yours to read. It lives on your Mac and syncs across your Macs through your own iCloud — not in a profile sold back to you.

## What it shows

- SUM**The headline numbers** — total plays, listening time, artists, and when your log starts.
- WK**Plays over time** — a per-week chart of how much you've been listening.
- ART**Top artists** — who you've been playing most, ranked.
- CR**By crate** — how much of your listening was free play versus inside a [crate](https://kapell.fm/docs/crates).
- DR**What's drifting** — how your genres are shifting lately.

## Ranges and views

Switch between **Overview** and **Timeline**, and scope any of it to the last 12 weeks, this year, all time, or a custom range — so you can read the long arc or just the last few weeks.

## It stays yours

Private by default.

Your listening history syncs across your Macs through your own iCloud, so it follows you from machine to machine — but it never touches Kapell's servers, and it's never sold on.
